(Shenyang, China) March 25, 2025 – Heraeus, a leading global technology group, celebrated the official launch of its new Heraeus Covantics plant in Shenyang, northeast China. This significant milestone was witnessed by over 150 representatives from Heraeus' global and China management teams, customers, government officials, and partners.

Dr. Frank Stietz, member of the Board of Managing Directors & COO of Heraeus Group, emphasized: "As China continues to advance in developing high-quality industries, Heraeus is actively contributing to this progress. The opening of our new production site in Shenyang is a testament to our ongoing commitment to our “In China, for China” strategy and our dedication to being close to our customers.

The new production facility, in which Heraeus has invested nearly 600 million RMB, incorporates state-of-the-art technologies. It specializes in high-purity synthetic quartz products for semiconductor applications and significantly increases production efficiency. The facility features an advanced wastewater recycling system and 100% automated control. The planned installation of a solar array on the roof will further reduce CO2 emissions.

The plant's dedicated R&D facility has secured multiple utility model patents, overcoming key technical challenges in quartz processing.

Heraeus will continue to focus on semiconductor devices and integrated circuit industrialization, driving the development of a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem in Northeast China.
